Director of Transformational Change

  • Location: Remote-friendly (U.S.-based), with the option to work from/visit our New York City office
  • Reports to: SVP, Transformational Change (with close partnership across Senior Leadership Team)

About Integral

Integral is an employee experience agency on a mission to change the future of work,
for good. We help leaders and their teams bring clarity, compassion, and intelligent
action to complex organizational challenges—through communications, culture work,
and transformation projects grounded in real research (including our own Integral
Index).

We’re ~20 humans (and one extremely committed office dog) who care deeply about:

  • Doing excellent, thoughtful work for our clients
  • Creating a meaningful, equitable experience for our own team
  • Building a company that’s worth owning—financially and emotionally—for the people who work here

We’re proudly remote-friendly, anchored by a warm, decidedly un-corporate office in
Manhattan that doubles as a creative space and client magnet.

The Role

We’re looking for a Director of Transformational Change who combines strategic vision
with hands-on leadership, someone who can help organizations navigate complexity,
ambiguity, and transition in ways that are grounded, human, and effective.
You’ll sit at the intersection of strategy, change leadership, organizational insight, and
growth. You’ll partner closely with senior leaders at client organizations, build and
sustain trusted relationships, and guide transformation work that helps organizations
move through meaningful change.

Alongside this work, you’ll actively identify opportunities to expand and deepen client
partnerships, articulate the business value of transformation and change work, and
contribute to business development efforts with existing and potential clients by
shaping and pitching ideas that connect organizational needs with thoughtful, effective
solutions.

You are equal parts strategist, advisor, operator, coach, and orchestrator… someone who
can zoom out to guide complex transformation efforts and zoom in to help teams and
clients move forward with clarity and confidence.

What You’ll Own & Drive

  1. Client Relationship & Partnership Leadership
You’ll serve as a trusted transformation partner to senior client leaders, grounding
strong relationships in insight, empathy, and follow through. You will:
    • Act as a primary strategic advisor to senior and C suite leaders, helping them
navigate complex transformation efforts with clarity, confidence, and practical
      guidance
    • Build a deep understanding of client organizations, including culture, leadership
dynamics, and operating realities, to ensure recommendations are relevant and
      actionable
    • Lead day to day strategic client interactions, balancing responsiveness with
thoughtful counsel, clear prioritization, and sound judgment
    • Help clients anticipate challenges, manage stakeholder dynamics, and move
      through uncertainty in constructive ways
  2. Transformation Strategy, Design, and Measurement
You’ll lead the core transformation work, blending strategy, structure, and experience to
help clients move through change effectively. You will:
    • Design and guide transformation strategies aligned to business goals, leadership
      priorities, and organizational context
    • Facilitate discovery, alignment, and planning sessions that surface risks,
dependencies, and opportunities across the system
    • Translate complex organizational realities into clear transformation approaches,
including phases of work, stakeholder considerations, and success indicators
    • Partner closely with communications, design, and delivery teams to ensure
transformation efforts are cohesive, coordinated, and human centered
    • Define and assess success measures, using data, observation, and feedback to
inform course correction and future work
  3. Team Leadership & Account Support
You’ll help teams do their best work by providing direction, context, and support. You will:
    • Mentor and coach team members across strategic thinking, client leadership, and executional craft
    • Contribute to a culture of high standards, collaboration, and continuous learning within the Transformation practice
    • Support account and project leads by providing strategic input, perspective, and problem solving in moments of complexity
    • Partner with operations and account leadership to help keep work on track, appropriately scoped, and well supported
    • Directly manage and support members of the Transformation team, with scope expanding as the practice continues to grow
    • Invest in your own ongoing development through curiosity, learning, and reflection
  4. Business Development & Growth
You’ll contribute to the growth of client relationships and the firm by recognizing opportunity and helping shape what comes next. You will:
    • Identify organic opportunities within existing client relationships and surface them in partnership with account and senior leadership
    • Build and nurture relationships with prospective clients through conversations, thought partnership, and exploratory work
    • Support proposal development, scoping, and pitch efforts by clearly articulating the value of transformation work
    • Help connect client and prospect needs to the firm’s capabilities in ways that are thoughtful, relevant, and financially sound
    • Contribute to the growth of accounts, the Transformation practice, and your own professional capabilities over time

Who You Are

You might recognize yourself in some of these:

  • Strategic thinker with strong organizational insight who understands how
strategy, culture, leadership behavior, and systems intersect during periods of
    change
  • Trusted advisor to senior leaders who can guide executives through uncertainty,
challenge assumptions when needed, and help translate vision into action
  • Grounded change leader who brings calm, structure, and perspective to
    ambiguous, high stakes situations
  • Thoughtful operator who can balance big picture thinking with practical
execution, helping teams and clients move forward without oversimplifying
    complexity
  • Collaborative leader and coach who enjoys supporting others, developing talent,
and creating clarity for teams delivering complex work

Experience & Skills

You likely bring:

  • 8 or more years of experience leading transformation, organizational change, employee experience, change communications or related advisory work in complex environments
  • Demonstrated experience guiding organizations through change that spans strategy, structure, leadership behavior, and employee experience
  • Strong understanding of organizational dynamics and how change is experienced across levels, including executives, people leaders, frontline employees, clients, and internal teams
  • Experience leading complex, multi stakeholder initiatives that require alignment across functions, perspectives, and priorities
  • Comfort serving as a senior advisor to client leaders while also supporting and developing internal teams delivering the work
  • Commercial sensibility and a proven track record of contributing to business development through account growth, opportunity identification, and proposal support
  • Ability to lead senior level client relationships with confidence, credibility, and sound judgment
  • Experience mentoring team members or leading cross functional initiatives in dynamic, evolving environments
  • Strong project and account management skills, including scope, resourcing, and budget awareness
  • Agency or consulting experience strongly preferred
