Phrases like “employee communications,” “values-driven trust,” “leadership authenticity”, and “shaping culture through change” can start to blur into an unappetizing word salad without the right context. After attending my first Integral Circles session in Connecticut — and hearing a handful of leaders’ perspectives — I not only gained a clearer picture of what’s what, I was reminded of just how much shared reality and creativity exists across this community.
The conversations didn’t just land; they stayed with me. It was eye-opening to see new ideas sparked among all of us in the room. That pushed me to reflect on my own role, impact, and how I can show up for the people I work with, the people I lead — and what I can and should expect from my own leaders.
There’s something grounding about being in a room with leaders navigating real change. The honesty, the questions, the moments of “it’s not just me!?!” Those exchanges are what make these intimate conversations matter. And somehow, the dialogue always stretches past the agenda (and the food never disappoints– Integral’s founders are both feeders, that’s for sure…and at least one of them has pretty good taste.)
Being part of these sessions has shown me how much successful professionals crave connection, clarity, and a place to think out loud. It’s also made me even more committed to opening these conversations more widely.
Because while AI is reshaping how teams operate, culture still moves at the speed of human connection. Many leaders feel like they’re already halfway up the mountain while their teams are still trying to get their footing. And across all of it, the most trusted messenger is still the manager, all too often without the tools or confidence they need.
If there’s one thing I’ve taken from these experiences, it’s this: real progress begins with self-awareness, empathy, and the willingness to evolve.
Hope to see you at one soon.
